This is the translation of twenty two stories selected from Magadigata Janakatha is the collection of folk tales written by late Mr. D. P. Wickramasinghe who was a school principal in many schools in the Kandy district for a long period of time. While pursuing his career as a principal, he had done research on the history of the Kings and the people in this area by surveying and scrutinizing the information
gathered from the surrounding villages and areas around the schools in which he served. Even though this task had been his hobby, there is a great value to the present world in what he had done.
